PDF dark mode on Android — read any PDF in the dark

Why there's no PDF dark mode on Android
Android's system dark theme recolors app interfaces — menus, settings, notification shade. Document pages are a different matter: whichever app opens your PDF (the Drive viewer, Chrome, a third-party reader) renders each page exactly as authored. There is no system-level switch to recolor the content of a document, on any Android version or skin.
Play Books and other half-measures
Google Play Books offers Night Light, but it only warms the screen tint — your PDF stays bright, just yellowish. Some reader apps advertise “night mode” that turns out to be a UI theme with the document still white. And the desktop-browser route is closed too: Chrome on Android has no extension support, so Dark Reader isn't even an option — and extensions like it can't recolor PDF pages anyway.
